Chicago mayoral candidate Bill Quinlan is suing Alexi Giannoulias, Maria Pappas and Mike Quigley for running for two different offices at the same time. He's seeking a judgement that the office of mayor is legally "incompatible" with the offices they hold and thus they're ineligible to run.
Illinois Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias said Tuesday that he’s “focused right now on finishing the session” but acknowledged that conversations about a widely-speculated 2027 campaign for Chicago mayor are just on the horizon.
Responding to a report from Cook County Treasurer Maria Pappas titled “How State Laws Failed to Stop Decades of Skyrocketing Property Taxes,” Gov. JB Pritzker on Monday laid blame at the feet of local school districts.
