SZALINSKI'S SUMMARY: Rep. Nabeela Syed, D-Inverness, is looking to elevate herself to the Senate by ousting appointed Sen. Darby Hills, R-Barrington Hills, in the 26th Senate District. Democrats already hold a 40-19 advantage in the chamber, but they are hoping to increase their representation in the suburbs.
